Effect of the larval density and food ratio on Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone, 1931) zoea

Objective: To analyze the combined effect of food and larval density in order to determine combination which best results development, growth survival Litopenaeus vannamei zoea are obtained. Desing/methodology/approach: The experiment consists evaluating 16 treatments resulting from four densities: 100, 200, 300 400 larvae∙L-1 densities C. muelleri as food, adjusting rations each three phases development. Results: highest values development index (3.7), terms total length (2.86±0.09 mm) dry (62.13±10.41 µg∙larvae-1) organic weight (50.83±7.51 µg∙larvae-1), well (88.30±9.10%) at end were obtained treatment 3, consisted an intermediate (300 larvae∙L-1) low concentration. Study limitation/implications: For a distintic species microalga it will be required evalue use. Conclusions. In optimize performance shrimp cultivation, use 50 80×103 cel∙mL-1 recommended for future experimental cultivation L. zoea.
